Giving back in some way to the things that we believe in is an important part of community. For the past 5 years I have been the Gratitude Manager for the Blue Deer Center (BDC) in New York. The BDC is a dedicated home for ancestral healing traditions from around the world. These healing practitioners come to teach and heal those who participate in their programs.
For centuries, ancient healing traditions have been passed down from generation to generation and these sacred practices could be lost. The BDC brings healers to the center to continue the medicine and pass on this wisdom so that it may continue to provide healing for generations to come.
It has been an honor and a blessing to be a part of an organization that utilizes community, education, and healing traditions to help create a better world. My role has been to organize gratitude for the generosity people have shown this non-profit organization. Whether through monetary donations or contributions of time or effort, I have been blessed with the task of showing appreciation for the gifts that have been given to this organization that I whole-heartedly believe in.
